KAOUTHER BEN HANIA

After studying commerce, Kaouther Ben Hania, spent the years 2002 to 2004 at the School of Arts and Cinema (EDAC) where she made three student films, including La brèche (The Breach), a short that earned several awards.
She pursued documentary studies at La Fémis' summer school in 2004 before becoming a regular student there in Screenwriting in 2005.
In 2006, she made her first professional short film, Moi, ma sœur et la chose (Me, My Sister and the Thing), then joined the founding team of Al Jazeera Documentaries, where she worked until 2007.
In 2010, she made a seventy-five-minute documentary, Les Imams vont à l'école (The Imams Are Going to School), which met with great success on the festival circuit. In 2011, she made 120 episodes of a 3D children's television series that was broadcast on JeemTV (formerly the Al Jazeera Children's Channel). Le Challat de Tunis (The Blade of Tunis) is her first feature film.

DANIEL H. BYUN

Byun Hy-uk aka Daniel H. Byun was born in Kwangju (Korea). He is currently a script writer and director. He studied at Korea University, the Korean Academy of Film Arts, and La Fémis in France. His interests in documentary and real people, and his keen knowledge of music and arts in general are evident in the unique cinematic world he has built. He is currently a professor in the Department of Film, TV & Multimedia at Sungkyunkwan University.

MADALINA CONSTANTIN

Romania, France

Madalina Constantin was born in Romania. She studied at the National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography in Bucharest, then begn working at the Bulandra Theatre and at Bucharest's Petit Théâtre. In 2003 she was admitted to the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Paris. Since then, she has divided her career between theater and film.
In 2005, she and Alexandra Badea founded the theater company Europ'artes. She performs texts by writers from Eastern Europe, including Biljana Srbljanović, Matei Vişniec and Nicoleta Esinencu, as well as those of Alexandra Badea, who switches between directing and writing.
In film, she has been in several feature and television films since her time in Romania, including Gunpowder, Treason & Plot, directed for the BBC by the Gillies MacKinnon.
In 2008, she acted in Fanny Ardant's first feature film, Cendres et Sang [Ashes and Blood], which was shown at the Cannes film festival the following year. She won the best actress award at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in 2013 for her role in Liova Jedlicki's short film Solitudes.

Ohna Falby set up London-based production company “Life to Live Films” in 2011 to produce her body of independent feature films. Originally from France, she studied film and creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College in New York before settling in London where she started her career in TV commercials. She set up her first short film company, Sister Films, in 2002 with writer-director David Mulloy, and has a great track record of producing (BAFTA, UIP, EIFF, Prix Canal+, etc.) award-winning short films. Now, as well as her feature projects, she works across commercials, shorts, dance and art films, collaborating with a wide range of talent and companies from the UK and Europe.

FRANCO LOLLI

Colombia, France

Franco Lolli is a director, screenwriter and producer of Colombian nationality, graduated from La Fémis. He directed the short films Como Todo el Mundo and Rodri (Directors' Fortnight, Cannes Film Festival 2012).
His first feature film, Gente de Bien, was unveiled at Cannes Film Festival's Critics' Week in 2014, and selected in more than 70 international festivals. It won prizes in San Sebastian, Lima, Ghent and Havana, among others.
Through his company Evidencia Films, Franco Lolli also produces other Colombian authors. Currently, he is preparing his next film as director, Litigante. The shooting is scheduled for the end of 2017.
